CMA Planning secured planning permission for this mixed-use scheme in Dalston, in East London for Family Mosaic in December 2008.  The site was previously occupied by an old factory building, whilst the proposal would see new commercial floorspace created, with new homes above and behind, in two blocks, four and five storeys tall.

The site is located in the centre of Dalston, an area undergoing significant regeneration, with the extension of the East London Line.  Prior to permission being granted by the London Borough of Hackney, a number of issues had to be resolved, including sunlight / daylight, amenity space, family unit provision, sustainability, disabled parking as well as general design, bulk, height and massing points.

CMA led the team and worked to address these issues in consultation with Planning Officers at the Borough.  CMA then secured a revised permission in July 2009, to reflect current market conditions and assist with the viability of the scheme.
