CMA Planning secured planning permission for this proposal in 2017 from the London Borough of Tower Hamlets  The scheme is located next to Queen Mary University at Mile End, and also sits next to the Regents Canal and the mainline railway heading into Liverpool Street Station.

The development, for Scape Living and designed by Stephen Marshall Architects includes two separate four storey podium blocks of student apartments – the easterly block flanked by two eight storey towers rising from the podium level and the western block by an eight storey block and a ten storey tower, all containing 412 student rooms along with associated kitchen/diners and communal facilities.

Planning permission already existing for a similar proposal, so CMA Planning and the project team sought to work within these parameters to improve the quality of the accommodation, and how the building is operated and managed - which will benefit future occupiers and people in the local area, whilst delivering a significant volume of much needed student housing.

CMA then assisted with discharging conditions and securing approval for other amendments.
